Fishing in Australia and New Zealand

The massive variety of fish species available to be hooked in Australia is far too great to list here.  But rest assured that if fishing is your game you will not be disappointed with a journey to Australia.  Almost every type of fishing can be done, and here is a basic list:
  • Ocean Shoreline (beach)
  • Lake - trolling, fly, shoreline
  • River - fly and spinner reel
  • Shallow water Ocean - fish, shell fish, and more
  • Deep Sea - big game, light tackle, fly, and many more
  • Spear fishing

In New Zealand trout fishing rules.  In fact, New Zealand has become one of the premier destinations for fly-fishing anglers looking to land good sized brown and rainbow trout.  Both lakes and rivers are popular for fishing trout.  Lake Taupo on New Zealand's North Island is widely considered the country's Trout Fishing Mecca.  Rivers all over the country are generally teaming with fish, but the South Island seems to be the bigger draw for river fishing anglers.  New Zealand could probably be considered paradise for people interested in wilderness fishing as many guides prefer the use of a helicopter to get in and out of the most remote locations!  This is big time adventure, in one of the most beautiful countries on Earth.
